September: Dorset Steam Fair

A view across the arena - steam vehicles everywhere!

Count the traction engines!

Dorset Steam Fair

This is probably the biggest steam fair in the world - there must have been almost 100 steam vehicles in the show - ranging from steam cars, steam lorries to traction engines.

The arena (top photograph) was swathed in smoke and steam and the smell was wonderful!

What was lovely to see was the number of young children and teenagers working the traction engines - it is good to know that they will be kept running by the next generation.

Taking it easy...

... let the younger generation get on with it!

But nothing will replace the horses!
