August: Eastbourne Air show, Michael Arnold's Book Launchand Terry and John C walk the SouthDowns Way

The Eastbourne air show is billed as the biggest sea-front air show in the UK (as is Bournemouth's air show!) and it was certainly spectactular. The day was initailly rather wet, but dried up later for some thrilling flying.

John Arnold's son Michael had his first book "Traitor's Blood" published in August and we all went up to London to be at the official launch. We visited the Houses of Parliament in the moring, having a guided tour of the Palace of Westminster before attending the launch.

Throughout the summer our friends Terry and John have been walking the Southdowns Way - a 100 mile walk from Eastbourne to Winchester. They walked it a day here another day there and, as they approached Petersfield, invited others to joint them. Joan, Terry's wife, drove John out to meet them for one of the final stages.

We went to the eastbourne air show and saw some wonderful planes and flying! The Red Arrows were the stars of the show!

Despite the rain Phil and Bobs enjoyed the day. John Arnold looks proudly at the window display of his son's book - Traitor's Blood. The book, Michael's first, was launched in London in August.
