February: Frost and Snow by the Lake, the Girls, Cakes, a Visit to the Olympic Site and a close look at Herons

We had some very cold weather, with a little snow and lots of frost - giving opportunities for photographs around The Lake Indoors we started looking after Wren as well as Freya - Mondays became the most tiring day of the week and John looked forward to going to work for a rest! Krispie (the cat!) has become very tolerant of little people, though her mother, Peppi still runs a mile when the girls arrive!

Liz made and decorated the cake - including the sugar flowers on top - for Mike and Shirley's party.

John went to Tangmere Military Aviation Museum with a Meteor pilot and both of us went to the Olympic site to see the diving.

Liz introduces Wren to Krispie. The cats have proved to be remarkable tolerant, though Wren did start off grabbing handfulls of fur! We awoke one morning to snow. Take a good look at the drive - it will have changed by the end of the year!

We have the girls every Monday - it's great fun, but exhausting! There are quiet moments though!

John found time to go for a walk with Terry and was surprised to see how much snow there still was in the woods

Quite a lot of The Lake was frozen - making life difficult for the birds. We wondered whether this mallard was
hoping to go surfing

It was very cold - but beautiful

These two seemed to want to avoid each other And we saw our Robin again!

We were also blessed with some wonderful sunsets

Mike (aka Michael) and Shirley were married on 30 December 2011 and only a few of us went to the wedding (see the very bottom of December 2011). In February they held a party in Petersfield and Liz decorated the cake.

And Mondays are still days with The Girls! Liz hides Wren from Freya, with great-grandpa Phil in the background

John and Terry, with Terry's old next-door neighbour, Robert visited Tangmere museum. Robert once flew Meteors and it was wonderful to be with an ex-pilot and see the plane.

We were very disappointed not to get any Olympic tickets and so were delighted when Tim gave us tickets to see the Fina Diving World Cup in the Olympic Pool.
