A holiday in Dorset, John visits Dorothy, Freya takes part in a Fun Run and we visit Germany

We stayed not far from Harman's Cross which is on the steam train route from Corfe Castle to Swanage. Here a train is just arriving at Harman's Cross. Click here for Video   Chris, Ed, Bobs, Liz and John - a selfie taken at
Lulworth Cove

Walking along a very blowy pier at Swanage   A selfie taken on the train

Durdle Door is always an impressive sight

An interesting wind vane spotted along the road   By The Globe: Ed, Chris, Liz and John

Old Harry rocks with Bournemouth in the background

Liz finds a new Teddy in Swanage   Available for rent - ideal for two!

Autumn leaves looking rather worse for wear - but a "sticky bud" hints at new leaves in the Spring

One Monday, when Freya was unwell, Bobs joined us on an outing with Wren to Bosham - Wren enjoyed riding in great gran's wheel chair!   Wookie - a member of the household who rarely gets mentioned. Quite how we ended up with a Guinea pig I don't know, but she's cute!

John visited his sister Dorothy in Fulbourn, Cambridgeshire - another selfie!

Freya (with her Dad's help) took part in a fun run in Southsea

Medal girl   Freya had an impressive backup team!

We went with Grey's Tours (and our friends Terry and Joan) to Rhudesheim in Germany and took a trip along the Rhine - this section is sometimes called the ABC Route - Another Bloomin' Castle!

Our hotel. Jamie, our driver reversed the bus up this narrow road each time we returned from a day out.   There were wonderful buildings around - this one housed a museum of mechanical musical instruments

An alternative sort of selfie - a reflection in a street mirror   In the cable car overlooking the vineyards

Joan makes friends. Despite the lack of a common language Joan leant a lot about the locals.
