We made yet another visit to the dermatology clinic at St Mary's hospital in Portsmouth where John had more skin cancer removed from his face.

Freya and Alice stayed overnight and we took them to Pizza Express for a lovely meal.

John and Penny took us to RHS Wisley to see their illuminated gardens - it was a cold but clear night and the displays were wonderful.

We collected our Christmas tree - and Liz did her usual wonderful job of decorating it.

We went out to lunch with Bobs and Sheila and joined Dorothy at Friday Friends in Cambridgeshire.

We joined the Carol Singers around the town before going to the PACT Carol Service in St Peters.

Christingles at The Salvation Army, iPad cooking, a friendly cat and a very civilized Christmas by a log fire

Surgery of a different kind: our next door neighbour and his two sones did a great job removing a tree in their garden which overhung our garden.

John had yet another minor operation to remove some skin cancer from his face - fortunately these are all benign He also had a hair-cut in the time between taking this two photographs - thanks Liz!

We took Freya and Alice to Pizza Express - they stayed with us overnight too!
