January: Frost On Old Winchester Hill, Snow in Petersfield and the Cotswolds

We went for a walk on Old Winchester Hill on a very cold, frosty but beautiful late afternoon:

In January we had the most snow that we've had in 30 years. John only just managed to get home from Portsmouth in time - after he got home an estimated 1,000 cars were stuck in the snow on the A3 which by-passes Petersfield.

Over the following three days we walked around the town and The Lake and took hundreds of photographs and movies, some of which are shown below:

Snow In Petersfield: Photographs

A snowman in the middle of The Avenue There were icicles everywhere - these
were on Mark and Kerry's dish aerial!

Liz walks along familiar streets that have changed out of all recognition! The Heath was stunning - Liz photographs some
trees. The whole area looked like Narnia!

The Cotswolds and Warwick Castle

We drove, in the snow, to Uley - a small village in the Cotswolds. The further east we drove the less snow there was, though there was still three or four inches.

We stopped, very briefly, at Avebury Rings and took a few photographs. The stop was brief because of the biting wind!
