• July was a very busy month - we went to Scotland for Tim and Lorna's wedding. We stayed with Neil and Barbara (Lorna's parents) before the wedding, then drove across Scotland to Crear, where the wedding was held on the beach.

Photographs of the wedding appear on the next page.

  • After the wedding we returned to Neil and Barbara's for just one day before we caught the train to King's Cross and then onto Welling Garden City so that we could attend Kate and Mike's wedding. John had been asked to attend the wedding in case Ian (Kate's dad), who had cancer wasn't well enough to give Kate away.

Fortunately he was well at the time of the wedding, so John was downgraded to the role of guest. Sadly, Ian died in November.
  • We returned to Neil and Barbara's for a few more days before going across Scotland to the Isle of Sky and then to the Island of Raasay, where we spent a week walking almost the whole island - it is 15 miles long and three wide, so it wasn't difficult!
  • While we were in Raasay we received the sad new that Bobs (Liz's mum) had died. She had expressly wished that if anything happened while we were away we were not to come home.
  • This page contains photographs of our times with Neil and Barbara and our holiday in Raasay, but remember that in the middle of these events we attended two weddings!
