May: Rothamstead, Bosham and Squirrels

Rothamstead is in Hertfordshire and John had heard about it when he was teaching chemistry many years ago. It is not far from where our friends, Ian and Anne, live in St Albans and we had a fascinating day looking around the gardens and laboratories.

We visited Bosham with friends from the USA - it is a wonderful place to take visitors, but, as you can see, you need to take care with parking!

We put some bird feeders at the bottom of the garden this Spring and were thrilled to see that we had also attracted up to three squirrels at a time.

A fascinating visit to Rothamstead in Hertfordshire - the oldest agricultural research institute in the world. Anne, Liz and Ian. Where have those men gone? Liz and Anne are looking!

Early summer: Horse Chestnuts in flower Bee-Tracking Radar. They stick tiny transponders on individual bees and then use this radar to track them. When the bee returns the transponder is carefully removed.
You were warned! Spotted on a visit to Bosham, West Sussex. Squirrels were frequent visitors to the garden this year.
