John and Terry are still enjoying walking together - nature is still asleep in March.

We had a lovely few days break in Wells which has a wonderful cathedral - we enjoyed sung evensong and looking around the city.

We also saw some angles in the cathedral grounds!

Every month Terry, John I and John take Fred out for a trip somewhere - this month it was to Southwick House where D-Day was planned.

Again, not strictly family, but interesting. Above is the actual map that was used when planning D Day: the five beaches - Utah (U), Omaha (O), Gold (G), Juno (J) and Sword (S) are clearly marked. It is to be found at Fort Southwick and John went there with Terry, John I and Fred. Apparently the map, which covers a complete wall, was made by a national toy company and then completed the two men who made and assembled it had to remain at Fort Southwick until after D day since they knew all about it.

Terry and John still get to go on a walk most weeks.

We spent a few relaxing days with Terry and Joan in the lovely cathedral city of Wells.

Liz in front of Well Cathedral   From the sublime to the ridiculous... seen on Wells market!

Joan - a little angel!

Another angel!   John and Terry (no comment)

Spotted in the Cathedral Gift Shop. The sign reads: My name is Louis. I am the cathedral cat - so I am not for sale. Please let me sleep - I am very overworked. (Oh and please, no flash photography)   The entrance to the gardens is flood-light at night and is a stunning sight. (Gosh that's almost poetry!)

Then flowers on the market were wonderful

Wells Cathedral is famous for its swans who ring a bell for food. We didn't see this -this is a photograph of a photograph!   John entered some of his Hedgerow Jelly into an Age Concern "Skilled Hands" competition - and was awarded second place!
